so, some interesting stuff.

okay, among the writer peeps, who might be interested in going in together on a self-pubbed chapbook of stories on the theme of “The Hero’s Responsibility”, dealing with superheroes coming to terms with the realities of their position – they cannot save everyone, and villains they help incarcerate escape to cause more death and destruction. just an idea i’m playing with.

had another wonderful meeting with the Austin Speed-Writing Challenge Group… i enjoy the critique groups i’m a member of, don’t get me wrong. but the bi-monthly speed-writing meet-ups are pure, unfettered creativity. turn it loose, write it down, don’t think about it, you don’t really have time, just let the Muse run rampant. love the people, love the experience, wish like hell it met more often. i always come out of those meetings inspired and ready to write.

enjoyed Naming-The-World yesterday, even though only Karen did the exercise. we sat and talked, looked at my Story Forge cards (which motherfuckin’ rock, btw – strongly recommended) and just in general doing the “writers talking” thing…

gonna close and post this bad boy. laters…

listening to: “Singya” – Ali Farka Toure
mood: happy
